The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Muscat is warning its citizens to be careful because they do not want people to fall for job offers. Some recruiters and travel agencies are saying they can get people jobs in the Sultanate of Oman. These jobs do not really exist.

The Embassy sent a message to the community. They said that some Egyptians have been targeted by people who are not authorized to help them.

These people are charging a lot of money to help Egyptians get to Oman on tourist visas. They are promising jobs that’re not real.

The Embassy is giving this warning because the rules for getting into Oman have changed. Now if someone gets a job offer in Oman they have to leave the country and come back with a special work visa.

This visa has to be sponsored by their employer. They have to have a real contract. The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Muscat wants its citizens to know about the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Muscat warning.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Muscat is looking out for the community, in the Sultanate of Oman.

Furthermore, diplomatic authorities emphasized that visitors who remain in the Sultanate beyond the validity of their entry permits face severe statutory penalties. Overstaying a tourist visa carries daily financial fines that can accumulate up to RO 500.

To mitigate security risks and prevent financial exploitation, the Egyptian Embassy strongly advised all prospective travelers to thoroughly verify job offers through certified official channels prior to making financial transfers or initiating travel plans.

The diplomatic mission also reminded visitors entering the Sultanate on tourist visas to adhere strictly to all standard border entry requirements.

Travelers must hold confirmed return flight tickets, documented hotel reservations or proof of verified residential accommodation, and sufficient financial resources to cover all expenses for the full duration of their stay until departure.

The diplomatic advisory forms part of broader efforts by foreign missions in Oman to combat fraudulent recruitment operations and protect foreign workers while ensuring strict compliance with local immigration laws.
