All preparations have been set in motion for the commemorative event in honor of the realm of literature and intellect in the Sultanate of Oman. The renowned Muscat International Book Fair has nailed down its dates for the forthcoming equivalent of the Ruby Jubilee, marking the 30th consecutive edition of the book fair, which will be a vast representation of world literature, local culture, and innovations.
The organizers held a preparatory meeting chaired by Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harrasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the primary committee. In the meeting, the officials came up with the official date, which has been set between March 24 and April 3, 2027. The committee assessed basic logistics to ensure that the multi-day event maintains its legacy of being an intellectual hub for authors, publishing houses, intellectuals, and readers.
A central highlight of the upcoming milestone event will be the special feature dedicated to Al-Wusta Governorate, which takes center stage as the official guest of honor. Planning sessions focused heavily on curating exhibits that spotlight Al-Wusta’s distinct historical footprint, rich heritage, vibrant natural resources, and evolving investment landscape. Organizers aim to offer visitors an immersive look into the governorate’s unique economic and cultural identity.

Furthermore, the 30th edition has adopted “Creative Industries” as its overarching theme. Committee members unpacked the multifaceted intellectual and economic dimensions of this concept, emphasizing how modern innovation and creative sectors drive contemporary economic diversification and cultural enrichment. Special panel discussions and workshops will explore how creative enterprises serve as a fundamental engine for knowledge-based growth.
Building on the successes of previous gatherings, the upcoming exhibition is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of local and international visitors, further cementing the Sultanate’s standing as a leading regional hub for publishing and literary exchanges.
Concluding the assembly, leadership underscored the absolute necessity of robust cross-sector coordination among participating entities. Ensuring seamless execution remains paramount to fulfilling the event’s intellectual ambitions and reinforcing its stature as one of the Middle East’s most influential cultural festivals.
