The Royal Oman Police have broken up a group that was involved in human trafficking. This group was cheating people who were looking for jobs. The Royal Oman Police found out that this group was making promises to people about jobs and then treating them badly.

The Royal Oman Police did this after they looked into what the group was doing. They found out what the group was up to. Then they arrested some people who were part of the group. The Royal Oman Police think these people were helping to move people across borders.

The people in charge said that they found out that the group was using job offers to get people to join them and also the Royal Oman Police said the group was looking for people who wanted to work and then they were cheating on them. The Royal Oman Police and the people who are helping them are trying to stop trafficking, which is a big problem, in many places, including the Sultanate.

Victims were allegedly misled about the nature of the work and the conditions they would face after arriving at their destination. The police did not disclose the identities or nationalities of those arrested, noting that legal procedures are underway as investigations continue.

The operation highlights Oman’s continued efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from criminal organisations that exploit economic hardship and employment aspirations. The Royal Oman Police work closely with relevant national authorities to identify trafficking networks, investigate organised criminal activities and bring those responsible to justice in accordance with Omani law.

Officials reiterated that human trafficking is a serious crime that violates human rights and carries severe legal penalties. They urged job seekers to verify employment opportunities through official and licensed recruitment agencies, exercise caution when responding to overseas job advertisements and avoid making payments to unverified intermediaries promising work abroad.

The ROP also called on members of the public to report suspicious recruitment activities or suspected trafficking cases through official communication channels, emphasising that community cooperation plays an important role in preventing such crimes.

The latest operation reflects the Sultanate’s broader commitment to strengthening law enforcement cooperation, enhancing border security and tackling organised crime networks that operate across multiple countries. Authorities said investigations remain ongoing to identify additional individuals connected to the trafficking network and ensure that all those involved are held accountable under the law.
