In a planned effort to improve how companies show their actions and to make sure investments are good for the future the Muscat Stock Exchange, which is called MSX held the Sustainability Forum 2026 in the Dhofar area.

The event took place at the Port of Salalah. Important people from companies that are listed on the stock exchange, people who make rules and others in the finance world came together. They talked about making rules for how companies handle environmental issues, social matters and how they are run.

The meeting shows that Oman is working hard to make sure its money system follows the ways used around the world. A big step was reached when all companies listed on MSX met the country’s rules for talking about their sustainability efforts.

As Oman tries to make its economy different and stronger under the Oman Vision 2040 plan making sure companies are responsible, using tools to report information and doing more research, on shares are seen as important steps. These steps help make the market more lively and bring in big investors from other countries.

Delivering the opening remarks, Haitham bin Salim Al Salmi, Chief Executive Officer of MSX, stated that embedding principles of openness and corporate responsibility forms the bedrock of a resilient investment environment.

Al Salmi emphasized that transparent financial and ESG disclosures directly enhance investor relations, stimulate analytical coverage, and foster fairer share valuation across public markets.

Underscoring the host institution’s commitment, Mohammed bin Aufait Al Mashani, Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Affairs at the Port of Salalah, noted that integrating sustainable methodologies into maritime and logistics operations drives both commercial growth and resource efficiency.

Al Mashani affirmed that modern governance standards have become fundamental to maintaining regional competitiveness and long-term economic value.

In the closing dialogue, attendees formulated strategic recommendations focusing on transitioning listed firms toward upcoming Financial Services Authority (FSA) directives that will integrate global sustainability frameworks.

Delegates advocated for leveraging automated digital platforms to accelerate market communications and urged financial institutions to expand independent research coverage to support fair market pricing for local and foreign investors.
