MUSCAT: Ibri Industrial City attracted investments worth RO 25.00 million by the end of the first half of 2026, as Oman continued to expand industrial activity in Al Dhahirah Governorate and promote manufacturing, food production and logistics under its economic diversification strategy.
The Madayn-operated industrial city has signed 17 investment agreements covering more than 250,000 square metres, with projects spanning the oil and gas, food processing, manufacturing and light industrial sectors.
Salah bin Nasser al Alawi, Director-General of Ibri Industrial City, said the estate continued to strengthen its investment environment by working with government agencies to attract projects that support the governorate’s economic development and create new business opportunities.
As part of those efforts, Madayn has launched 11 investment opportunities in food manufacturing and organic fertiliser production through the Tharawat platform in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate.
The opportunities have also been promoted through the Tatweer platform in collaboration with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning, broadening their exposure to domestic and international investors.
Al Alawi said the initiatives are intended to encourage value-added industries, increase investment in agriculture-related manufacturing, create employment opportunities and contribute to the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
Madayn is also preparing a series of infrastructure projects for the industrial city under the 11th Five-Year Development Plan covering the 2026-2030 period.
The programme includes the construction of a security perimeter, an administration building, a Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, protection works for service facilities and the expansion of green spaces throughout the estate.
Ibri Industrial City occupies a total area of 10 million square metres, of which more than 2.60 million square metres have already been developed.
Its location in Al Dhahirah Governorate places it close to border crossings with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, providing manufacturers and logistics companies with access to regional markets.
The governorate is also home to significant deposits of marble and chromite, giving the industrial city a competitive advantage for mineral processing and downstream manufacturing, while supporting investment in commercial and service activities linked to the industrial sector.
Madayn has been expanding its network of industrial cities across Oman to attract private investment, strengthen local manufacturing, support small and medium-sized enterprises and increase the contribution of non-oil sectors to the national economy as the Sultanate advances its long-term diversification agenda.
