An official commercial delegation representing the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s North Al Batinah branch has concluded a bilateral trade mission to Cairo, seeking to deepen cross-border investment ties and industrial collaboration with Egyptian business leaders.

The mission featured a high-level Industrial Forum jointly coordinated by the Omani Embassy in Egypt and regional chamber leadership, gathering prominent corporate executives from both nations to evaluate venture opportunities across key economic sectors.

The bilateral forum focused on expanding joint operations in pharmaceutical manufacturing, food security initiatives, aluminum processing, maritime shipping, and industrial real estate development.

Chaired by Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, the assembly brought together private sector leaders alongside senior representatives from Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the Commercial Representation Service to streamline administrative processes and review investor incentives.

Ambassador Al Rahbi highlighted the tangible economic output of prior bilateral engagements, noting that a similar chamber delegation three years ago successfully established three major industrial projects in Oman’s Wilayat of Sohar.

Addressing delegates in Cairo, the envoy stressed that direct executive-level dialogues remain essential for unlocking regional capital, expressing confidence that the latest talks would generate targeted joint ventures in food logistics, medical supplies, and commercial property development.

Delegation leader Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the OCCI North Al Batinah branch, emphasized that the Cairo visit provided a strategic platform for Omani enterprises to diversify their international portfolios while expanding regional trade networks.

During the sessions, Egyptian trade regulatory bodies delivered comprehensive briefings outlining tax breaks, streamlined licensing procedures, and free zone benefits available to Gulf investors. Furthermore, commercial delegations plan to organize reciprocal working visits over the coming months to conduct on-site technical evaluations across designated free zones in both countries.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to establishing permanent institutional mechanisms to monitor progress on proposed joint ventures and facilitate long-term industrial integration between Oman and Egypt.
