Muscat Business Gathering Links Emerging Entrepreneurs with Corporate Leaders to Fuel Local Enterprise Growth

In Muscat emerging Omani entrepreneurs met with corporate executives. Omani entrepreneurs aimed to create commercial partnerships that would grow the Sultanate’s small and medium enterprise ecosystem, the SME ecosystem was the focus.

The SME Speed Networking Event was held at the Diplomatic Club on Tuesday, 18th August and it was the part of the AmCham Oman SME Forum series.

DHL Express served as the sponsor and the event was organized together with the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, known as Riyada with the SME forum series continues.

The event was built to speed up B2B collaboration. Local business founders could meet industry leaders who could help them grow their businesses, offer guidance and connect them with supply chain partners and SME growth was a goal.

Recognizing that sustainable business growth hinges heavily on strategic relationships, the program targeted practical connections that can convert initial introductions into long-term commercial partnerships.

During the session, participants engaged in timed, three-minute interaction rounds. Emerging business owners directly pitched their enterprise capabilities, products, and services to corporate decision-makers and peer business owners.

The structured format allowed attendees to pinpoint mutual interests quickly, covering operational topics such as local procurement opportunities, strategic referrals, and enterprise legal frameworks before transitioning to an open networking reception.

Highlighting the objective of the gathering, Rebecca Olson, Chief Executive Officer of AmCham Oman, emphasized that creating direct access between rising business leaders and established corporations remains central to the chamber’s mission. She noted that a single targeted connection often opens up pivotal trade pathways for an enterprise.

Supporting this vision, Yasser Al Lamki, Multichannel Territory Manager and SME Specialist at DHL Express, stated that backing Oman’s local enterprise ecosystem aligns with the company’s regional strategy to connect native businesses with international logistics standards and trade networks.

The broader initiative continues to focus on business education, trade expertise, and local capacity building. Institutional backing was further reinforced by corporate partners, including legal counsel from Abdullah Al Moshyqri Advocates and Legal Consultants alongside mobility assistance from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, reflecting a shared private-sector commitment toward strengthening the Sultanate’s small-business landscape.
