A warning has been issued to people living in some areas in Oman because there will be low clouds and fog in those areas, which is bound to reduce visibility in the coming hours. According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the weather is likely to cause some inconveniences, particularly in the hilly and coastal areas since it will persist till early morning.
The people are advised to be careful during road travels and when undertaking any outdoor activity. These warnings have been issued by the Civil Aviation Authority in its latest weather report concerning the weather in the country. Low clouds and fog patches will occur in some areas around the Arabian Sea and Sea of Oman.
The authority noted that horizontal visibility could be significantly reduced in some locations, prompting motorists to remain alert while travelling during the affected periods.
The forecast also indicated the possibility of low-level cloud activity extending to sections of the Al Hajar mountain range, where cloudy conditions may develop as a result of seasonal weather patterns. In Dhofar Governorate, cloud formation associated with the Khareef season is expected to continue, with mist and drizzle likely over coastal and mountainous areas. These conditions are typical during the annual monsoon period that attracts thousands of visitors to southern Oman each year.
Elsewhere in the Sultanate, generally clear to partly cloudy skies are forecast, although isolated cloud development may occur over some interior and mountain areas during the afternoon. The CAA also warned that active winds could lead to blowing dust and sand in exposed desert locations, temporarily reducing visibility in open areas.
Maritime conditions are expected to remain relatively calm along most of Oman’s coastline, although slight variations in wave height may occur depending on local weather conditions. Authorities have advised fishermen, seafarers and beachgoers to monitor official weather updates before heading out to sea.
The Civil Aviation Authority regularly issues weather advisories to help residents, travellers and emergency services prepare for changing conditions. Officials urged the public to follow the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially when driving in areas where fog or low clouds are expected to reduce visibility.
