An exclusive health information desk, focused on traditional and alternate medicine, has been formally launched in the Sultanate of Oman. The recently launched India-Oman AYUSH Information Cell has been officially opened at KIMS Health Hospital, located in Darsait, Muscat.
The opening of the cell is considered an important collaborative step taken by the Embassy of India in Muscat and the KIMS Health Medical Center under the guidance of India’s Ministry of AYUSH. The officials have informed that the recently launched cell will act as a reliable source for local people in regard to ancient healing sciences.
The special dedication ceremony was formally led by H.E. Shri Prashant Pise, the Ambassador of India to Oman, alongside healthcare leaders and diplomatic representatives. Addressing attendees during the inauguration, the ambassador highlighted that the five core pillars of traditional healing, encompassing Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, embody five millennia of accumulated Indian heritage geared toward long-term wellness and preventive health management.

Medical authorities emphasized that the information center aims to bridge knowledge gaps by making authentic, scientific literature and guidance easily accessible to the multicultural population residing across Oman. Beyond serving as a simple inquiry desk, the newly operational bureau has laid out an active community outreach agenda. Plans include coordinating specialized public lectures, expert-led seminars, professional training courses, and wellness workshops designed to foster deeper public appreciation of integrative medicine.
Healthcare experts note that the initiative arrives as demand for holistic and preventive therapies continues to rise steadily throughout the Gulf region. By integrating traditional wisdom into modern clinical environments like KIMS Health, the facility strengthens bilateral health cooperation while offering residents safe, scientifically backed pathways to explore alternative healthcare options.
Furthermore, diplomatic envoys and hospital management expressed confidence that this collaborative milestone will serve as a model for future healthcare partnerships between India and Gulf Cooperation Council nations.
