Social initiatives and collaborations in the Sultanate of Oman have been presented at the second International Social Responsibility Forum held in Saudi Arabia. At the forum, which lasted for two days, Oman’s Minister of Social Development, Dr. Laila Bint Ahmed Al Najjar, led the Omani delegation and stressed the importance of making community programs contribute to concrete developmental achievements.
With the title “From Commitment to Impact,” the regional forum was attended by major international decision-makers in order to discuss critical development issues, sustainable business models, and increasing influence of nonprofit organizations. In her participation in an international ministerial panel on global approaches, Dr. Laila Al Najjar discussed how Omani institutions are increasingly blending social frameworks into development agendas. She noted that expanding public awareness and establishing structured institutional guidelines remain crucial for enhancing the sustainability and overall effectiveness of corporate social responsibility projects across the Sultanate.

To further amplify these efforts, Oman is actively encouraging local enterprises to adopt international environmental, social, and governance standards. This strategic alignment aims to drive economic diversification, optimize resource distribution, and ensure that private sector contributions deliver lasting benefits to local communities while reinforcing regional stability and national economic resilience.
Furthermore, panel discussions during the convention addressed critical strategies for leveraging emerging technologies, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence to broaden the global reach of human-centric initiatives. Delegates also explored frameworks to advance cross-border educational empowerment, support sustainable enterprise models, and build robust public-private alliances capable of addressing shared economic and social priorities.
On the sidelines of the event, Dr Al Najjar conducted bilateral talks with Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. Their discussion focused on deepening mutual cooperation regarding family welfare, exchange of administrative expertise, and joint developmental programs between Oman and Turkey. Through these international dialogues, Oman continues to reinforce its active participation in regional social policy development and international alliance building.
