Senior representatives from Oman and Türkiye met in Muscat this week to outline the future moves in the relationship that has been growing in the view of both parties.
These negotiations included Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman and Musa Kulaklıkaya, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, who had meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this Wednesday.
These negotiations are one of many diplomatic efforts made by both Muscat and Ankara to translate their good political relations into practical actions.
According to a ministry readout, the two officials examined the trajectory of Omani-Turkish relations and identified fresh avenues to broaden collaboration across shared areas of interest.

Discussions also extended to the wider regional picture, with both sides exchanging assessments on developments across the Middle East that carry implications for their respective foreign policy priorities.
Joining the session were Oman’s envoy to Ankara, Ambassador Saif bin Rashid Al Jahwari, and Türkiye’s ambassador in Muscat, Dr. Muhammad Hakimoglu, alongside a team of officials from both foreign ministries.
Their presence signalled continuity in the working-level channels that typically follow up on such high-level exchanges.
The meeting is the latest in a series of diplomatic engagements between the two nations, which have steadily built up political, economic and cultural links in recent years.
Oman has positioned itself as a steady voice for dialogue in a region often marked by tension, while Türkiye has expanded its diplomatic and commercial footprint across the Gulf. Wednesday’s discussion adds to that pattern, with officials from both capitals signalling intent to keep the momentum going through continued consultation rather than a single formal agreement.
No specific new initiatives or agreements were announced following the meeting, though officials described the exchange as constructive and reflective of the strength of ties between the two nations.
