Several important agreements and memoranda of understanding have been entered into by the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Kazakhstan with the objective of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the development and economic sectors. The diplomatic meeting took place at the Independence Palace in the presence of H.M. Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The meeting led to the conclusion of five formal agreements and ten memoranda of understanding, together with other essential frameworks for joint investments and industries. In the accord, one of the most important steps taken is the membership of Oman in the Eurasian Development Bank. The bilateral packages further prioritize reciprocal investment protections, new air transport connectivity, and the formation of a joint business council to streamline private sector engagement.

The framework underscores substantial public-private collaboration across the energy, mining, and tourism sectors. National energy company OQ partnered with Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas to explore joint upstream opportunities, while O-Green signed a strategic accord with Samruk Energy to advance international renewable projects. Furthermore, a memorandum of cooperation was ratified to establish a joint mineral exploration center, and a term sheet was finalized for a new Rixos luxury hotel development at Blue City in Oman. Additional protocols encompass maritime logistics, telecommunications, agriculture, and academic training between governance institutions.
Beyond commercial ventures, the agreements incorporate comprehensive institutional exchange frameworks spanning financial regulation, public service innovation, cultural promotion, and youth programs. These initiatives aim to foster knowledge sharing and build stronger socio-economic ties between both nations over the coming decade.
Senior Omani leadership participated in the official ceremonies, including Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Minister of Finance Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, and Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi. Their Kazakh counterparts, led by Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev, reaffirmed their joint commitment to enhancing economic integration and strategic partnerships across Eurasia.
