King Charles III and Queen Camilla of Britain hosted His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman in a grand state banquet in Windsor Castle. This is a big diplomatic event since it is the first state visit by an Omani ruler in 44 years.
The White Tie State Gala had about 160 invited guests who included top members of the British Royal Family as well as leading representatives of the UK governmental and business structures. Before the banquet started, guests were officially received by hosts and visiting personalities.
Speaking at the event, King Charles mentioned the rich history of the London and Muscat alliance that started in the 17th century with trade on seas and developed into mutual collaboration in military, trading, and diplomatic fields. The British sovereign lauded Oman’s steadfast commitment to constructive neutrality and regional stability, particularly praising Muscat’s diplomatic mediation and ongoing peace efforts across the Middle East.

In response, Sultan Haitham expressed profound gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to his delegation. He underscored that bilateral relations have remained unshaken for over two centuries due to a foundation of mutual respect. Highlighting Oman’s foreign policy approach, the Omani leader noted that the nation consistently champions dialogue, understanding, and peaceful solutions over conflict in a volatile geopolitical landscape.
The state banquet also served as a catalyst for expanding economic collaboration, with both nations seeking to boost investments in green energy, technology, and trade infrastructure. Bilateral discussions surrounding the visit highlighted shared goals for sustainable development, economic diversification under Oman Vision 2040, and enhanced security cooperation to safeguard strategic international trade routes across the Arabian Sea.
The high-profile gathering celebrated decades of close bilateral ties, reinforcing strategic economic partnerships and diplomatic alignment between the two nations. The evening concluded with traditional toasts to enduring friendship and the health of both heads of state, underscoring a shared commitment to fostering long-term regional security and cooperative growth.
