The Royal Oman Police have taken two workers from Africa into custody after they entered an apartment in the Wilayat of Yanqul without permission and stole money and mobile phones from the people who lived there.
As reported by the police the people who were harmed were also from the country as the people who committed the crime.
The break-in included forcing their way into the house and taking things that were valuable from the people who were inside.
Officials in the Dhahirah Governorate, which includes Yanqul, said that the police arrived fast once the crime was reported.
Police said legal proceedings against the two suspects are now underway, with the case being processed in line with standard criminal procedure.
No further details on the exact date of the incident, the value of the stolen items, or the identities of those involved have been released, as investigations continue.
The arrest is the latest in a string of theft-related cases reported across Oman’s interior regions in recent days, with Muscat Daily separately reporting a similar case involving an expatriate detained for stealing money and electronic devices in Bahla, in the neighbouring Dakhiliyah Governorate.
